About Us

About Us:

In January 2013 Jim Quiter and Kari Lindstrom opened a Mid Century Modern Furniture store called "The Melamine Cup". Jim and Kari had been Treasure Hunters, Pickers and collectors their whole life, And wanted to follow their favorite pastime: Buying and selling Antiques and collectables. The store had been open for a couple of months and was doing well enough to double in size, and it felt like a great time to expand the idea of being business owners, and learn something relatively new, but still related to our Treasure Hunting passion.

Jim, attended Auctioneering school in early summer 2013 at New England School of Auctioneering, under the Tutelage of Ann White, and Longtime Auctioneers Roscoe Putnam, and Tom Troon.

After completing all classes, tests, and other requirements, Winney Auction & Appraisal opened in Jaffrey, NH in late Summer of 2013 and began doing auctions and estate services, and soon after holding a weekly sunday flea market, to fill in gaps between auctions.

In the Fall of 2013, Jim's Mother, Jeanne Daniels joined the family business as a co-owner, and helped with the every day chores of meeting customers, running the flea market, cataloging items, and of course, Treasure Hunting...the art she taught Jim at an early age.

Towards the end of 2014, Winney Auction & Appraisal decided to go a new route, and transform the Auction side of the business from a "Live" Auction, to an "ONLINE" auction and hold more Estate sales. Reluctantly, they also decided to close the weekly flea market, instead, focusing that aspect to attending other large flea markets in different parts of New England, meeting great people as they go.

We look forward to providing an Auction format everyone can easily use, provide estate services, and travel to different venues to meet new customers as much as possible.
